Thanks to a resident email we were notified of scattered pylons and barrels around the Queensway Bridge construction area that crosses over the Humber River. The Transportation dept. has reported back with an update on the work here:
“The Site Inspector and Contractor confirm the barrels are on the Queensway bridge deck for impending landscaping work and safety reasons.
Within the next week, the contractor will be landscaping along the curbs on the Queensway and will need the barrels to safely mark out their work zone.
Further, the lane markings on the bridge are in poor condition so the contractor placed the barrels out from the TTC curb to provide delineation. These lane markings will be repainted once final paving of the bridge is complete.
We understand that some of the barrels may have blown over, so the contractor has been notified to pull all barrels back closer to the TTC curb.
All landscaping was completed last week (Friday after 6pm), within a four day work week, which included over 700 trees/shrubs and topsoil/mulch.
The project will be completed by next Friday June 8.”
On this note, we’re happy to report that this project resulted in 700 trees/shrubs, topsoil/mulch, grading over 3000 m2 of topsoil and terraseed in the area!
